With a blend of dreamy acoustic duets, foot-stomping folk and bluesy murder ballads, New Zealand-formed and Nashville-based South for Winter’s sound is as eclectic as their origins. The award-winning act is composed of New Zealander Nick Stone and Coloradan Dani Cichon, and together the two multi-instrumentalists and songwriters combine ethereal harmonies, poetic lyricism, percussive finger-style guitar, foot percussion, and driving mandolin into a genre-bending sound described by American Songwriter as “impeccable”. South for Winter has received nominations such as Grand Prize Winner of the Indie Acoustic Project's "Album of the Year" and "AAA Album of the Year" (2024-2025), Finalist in the International Songwriting Contest (2025), Semi-Finalist in the American Songwriter Song Contest (2025), and Finalist for “Best Group/Duo” in the International Acoustic Music Awards (2023). Their music has been praised by sites such as American Songwriter ("laden with delicate harmonies, intricate guitar-work, and earthy vocals... impeccable sound"), No Depression ("must-see artist"), and AmericanaUK ("an ethereal, dreamy, journey...a journey well-worth taking"). Music written and produced by the band-members has been featured on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Peacock, and Apple TV.

Between releases, the duo has toured relentlessly both nationally and internationally, bringing audiences to their feet and selling out shows across New Zealand, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, the UK, Denmark, Poland, Canada, and the United States.
