KC Johns

KC Johns delivers infectious country-rock with dynamic, compelling vocals and an undeniable determination. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in Hernando, Mississippi, KC Johns was immersed in music early on. Named after KC and the Sunshine Band and inspired by artists including Led Zeppelin, Stevie Nicks, and Sheryl Crow, she packed up her guitar and headed for Nashville in 2017. Starting off singing on Broadway stages and then landing an opportunity to perform with Carnival Cruise Lines, she had several years of international touring, honing her stage presence, and connecting with global audiences.

KC Johns has built an impressive performance résumé since then. She was featured in Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors at Dollywood, opened for major artists like Luke Bryan, Chris Young, and Randy Houser, and performed at esteemed events, including Texas Motor Speedway, Big As Texas Festival, and Country Cruisin’. During the pandemic, KC leaned into livestreaming and social platforms, organically building a devoted international audience that led to performances in Norway and beyond. That global reach continues today through her national and international touring.

In 2022, she released her digital debut album Thunder and later launched her very own Thunder Mesquite Smoked Bourbon Whiskey with Cali Distillery. Distributed nationwide, the bourbon has earned multiple honors, including Best Bourbon and Best of Class at the Sunset International Spirits Competition in 2024 and 2025.

KC Johns turned heads with her viral single “Rodeo Queen,” a crowd favorite rooted in her own story; the song reflects KC’s upbringing in rodeo culture. The single has surpassed 1.9 million streams, climbed to #28 on Texas Country Radio, earned Top 10 honors from the Texas Country Music Association, and was added to Amazing Radio’s Country Road Featured Playlist. Building on that momentum, KC Johns kicked off 2025 with “Break From The Heart” and continued with a heartfelt country tribute single, “Best Seat in the House,” which climbed to #2 on the CDX Positive Country Chart.

Riding the energy from her 2025 successes, KC Johns introduces “Bad Perfume,” an upcoming single produced by Smith Curry and penned with bandmates Tim Angsten and Tim Baumgartner. Releasing February 6 with an accompanying music video, the track is a smoky, dangerous rocker driven by bold guitars and sultry rhythm, capturing the intoxicating rush of a love that smelled sweet at first but turned sharp and unforgettable.

As KC Johns looks ahead, her path is clear: more music, miles, and moments shared with fans around the world. Currently touring, Johns is bringing her signature blend of honesty, grit, and soulful storytelling to festival stages and intimate venues across the US and internationally. Whether performing live, sharing her Thunder whiskey, or crafting songs straight from the heart, KC Johns remains grounded in connection, dedicated to creating experiences that resonate with her audience.
