In February 2026, award-winning indie singer-songwriter Abbie Thomas will celebrate the release of “Date Night”, a blues-leaning love song that has quietly earned its flowers as a long-standing fan favorite through years of live performance—finally being released into the world during Valentine’s week at the urging of her audience. The release is marked by a Midwest mini tour alongside her retro-soul band, The Crazy Hearts.
Releasing on February 11, “Date Night” anchors a thoughtfully curated evening centered on love in all its forms—not just romance, but the quiet, enduring love between parents and children, grandparents, friends, and kindred spirits. Timed with Valentine’s month, the show blends classic love songs—from Ella Fitzgerald to Elvis— with Thomas’ original material, including her award-winning songs “Not Gonna Lie”, which appeared on the first-round GRAMMY® ballot in 2025, and “Mid July”, which earned Folk Song of the Year at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards the same year. Praised for her “husky and ageless vocal, sitting somewhere between Diana Ross and Kacey Musgraves” (Paul Jackson, FATEA), Thomas leads on vocals and guitar, joined by Simon Kauffman Hurst (piano), Isaac Fisher (upright bass), and Arthur Schroeder (drums), creating an intimate, story-driven night rooted in connection and impeccable musicianship.
Fresh off her Album & Vocalist of the Year wins from the Josie Music Awards (Nov. 2025), her Folk Song of the Year win for "Mid July" from the Hollywood Independent Music Awards (July 2025) and back-to-back JMA Artist of the Year wins in 2023 & 2024 (at The Grand Ole Opry), Abbie Thomas is a rising, genre-bending singer-songwriter gaining international attention for her live performances, lyricism, and visual content. She was also nominated alongside Olivia Rodrigo at the 2024 Hollywood Music in Media Awards for Best Live Filmed Concert. Mixing soulful vocals with hints of Blues, Jazz, and a 70’s songwriter vibe, her music connects with listeners through both studio recordings and dynamic live shows. She’s currently touring the Midwest USA.
California born, Midwest raised—a nomad from nowhere and everywhere—her songs accompany road trips with new love, wine-fueled rainstorms, or moments seeking clarity and strength. Her storytelling and versatile musicianship shine like a mended heart, turning strangers into kindred spirits by touching on tough topics like life, death, politics, sexism, the class system -- all with a bit of lightness and hope woven throughout her lyrics.
Influenced by Carole King, Lauryn Hill, Ray Charles, and film composer Rachel Portman, she’s known for reading a room and tailoring her shows to the audience. Expect gut-wrenching piano ballads in a Chicago listening room, jazzy head-nodding soul in a hotel piano bar, or danceable retro-soul anthems with her full band, “The Crazy Hearts.”
Her highly anticipated, fan-funded album Not Gonna Lie released September 27, 2024, and its title track debuted at #3 on the iTunes R&B/Soul chart (and as of October 2025, is currently being considered for a GRAMMY®). Collectively, the album’s music and music videos have earned nearly 300,000 streams and views—entirely independently. Stream her music on all major platforms.
